“Plans,” the lead single from Thrasher, is out now. Flowers is the only credited writer, and like the rest of the album, it’s produced by Shawn Everett and Jonathan Rado, both of whom worked on the last two Killers albums, 2020’s Imploding The Mirage and 2021’s Pressure Machine. Those guys threw in so many country touches here, from banjo to harmonica to swooning orchestral strings. Flowers’ momentous voice translates extremely well to this genre; here, he uses it to reflect on the timeless subject of how time’s crucible alters our best-laid plans. The live version of the song is even more convincing than the studio version. Flowers goes on US, Canada and UK tour, but so far no German dates announced.
