Faetooth is an all female American three-piece metal band from Los Angeles, California, known for pioneering a unique subgenre they call “fairy doom.” Formed in 2019, the group blends elements of doom metal, sludge, post-metal, and shoegaze to create heavy, ominous sounds paired with ethereal, fantastical melodies. The band’s signature “fairy doom” sound has been described as a musical fusion of Metallica and Enya—pairing crushing riffs with haunting, atmospheric vocals. Their lyrical themes and aesthetics deeply explore folklore, spirituality, nature, and personal vulnerability. The band took stage at academic 9 PM and had no problem grabbing the attention of the audience. Despite the concert taking place on an overly hot Monday (32 C) and with FIFA World Cup going on the room was filled up pretty good at Gebäude 9 with headbangers.
