Jet – 2026 Europe Tour at Club Volta, Cologne

Jet went on tour without releasing any significant new material. In fact, their last full studio album, Shaka Rock, came out in 2009, while their most recent single was released in 2024.

The Australian rockers scored a massive international breakthrough with “Are You Gonna Be My Girl” from their 2003 debut album Get Born. The record also produced the hits “Cold Hard Bitch” and “Look What You’ve Done.” Despite the lack of recent albums, Jet still attracts more than eight million monthly listeners on Spotify, proving that songs from the early 2000s remain relevant more than two decades later.

Now the band is back on the road, and fans are still eager to experience that unmistakable garage-rock sound. For their Cologne stop, Jet played it safe with an intimate show at Club Volta. The concert was marked as sold out, meaning roughly 400 fans packed the venue despite an ongoing heat wave and the simultaneous France–Spain World Cup match.

At 9:15 p.m., the background music stopped and the crowd erupted as Jet walked onto the stage. Frontman Nic Cester, dressed in white pants and a black shirt, strolled to center stage, picked up his red Gibson guitar, and the band launched into “Last Chance.” Jet followed with “Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is” and “She’s a Genius,” immediately setting an energetic tone as the room temperature was raising fast.

“Are You Gonna Be My Girl” remains the song that made Jet internationally famous, and the venue exploded when its unmistakable opening riff kicked in. Other highlights included “Cold Hard Bitch,” “Hurry Hurry,” “Move On,” and “Rollover DJ.” More importantly, the performance maintained a consistently high level throughout the evening. There were no weak moments. The guitar-heavy sound and rock-solid rhythm section provided the perfect foundation for Cester’s powerful vocals.

The “It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘n’ Roll)” AC/DC cover made the setlist and Jet didn’t have to push themselves to make it sound right as the vocal of Not Cester hit the desired vocal range perfectly.

Overall, it was a night to remember for fans of early-2000s rock. Jet demonstrated that they still possess the energy, chemistry, and passion that made them one of the defining rock acts of their era. Judging by the audience’s enthusiastic response, Cologne remains more than ready to welcome them back anytime.
