Corey Kent live at Die Kantine in Köln
Accompanied by his four-piece band, Corey Kent took the stage and launched straight into Highways, immediately setting the tone and energy for the night. As the song came to an end, the crowd erupted into loud cheers and applause, leaving no doubt about the warm welcome awaiting him in Germany.
Kent kept the momentum going with the mid-tempo Gold, How You Know You Made It, Boys Growing Up, and Rocky Mountain Low, proving that country music fever had fully taken over Die Kantine. A spirited cover of Eric Church’s Drink In My Hand pushed the tempo even higher before Kent returned to his own material with Empty Words, Damn Good Country Song, and Tumbleweed.
The set shifted into heavier territory with the rocking Ain’t My Day and the brand-new unreleased track Motorbike. Another surprise followed with a countrified version of Oasis’s Champagne Supernova. Wannabe and Wild As Her kept the audience fully engaged before the uptempo Something’s Gonna Kill Me brought the main set to a close.
Kent returned for an encore with a country-blues interpretation of The Beatles’ Come Together, ending the evening on a high note.
With his distinctive vocals, commanding stage presence, and relentless energy, Corey Kent ensured that his first-ever — and only — performance in Germany left a lasting impression.Between songs, Kent frequently connected with the audience through relaxed storytelling, sharing personal background stories that gave the performance a warm and intimate feel despite the high-energy atmosphere. Live, his material carried a noticeably heavier edge than on record, driven by expansive guitar work and dual guitar solos that created a powerful country-rock atmosphere.
