Cody Pennington Brings a Sold-Out Country Party to Cologne

Nashville country artist Cody Pennington is known for his relentless touring schedule and high-energy live performances, and he delivered exactly that at a sold-out Die Kantine in Cologne. The venue was packed to capacity, with fans dressed in everything from casual attire and trucker caps to full western outfits and cowboy hats, creating the perfect atmosphere for a night of country music.

Taking the stage promptly at 8 PM without a support act, Pennington wasted no time getting the crowd on his side. Backed by a tight three-piece band and playing guitar himself, he immediately ignited the room and took the audience on a country music journey filled with singalongs, storytelling, and plenty of good-time energy.

The setlist struck a balance between Pennington’s own material and a collection of beloved country classics and modern hits. Original songs such as Cowboy Enough, Whiskey’s Better, Waiting, Be A Man, and Cowboys Sitting At The Bar fit seamlessly alongside crowd-pleasing covers. The band performed with confidence and precision, while Pennington’s strong vocals cut effortlessly through the mix, leading the audience through one singalong after another.

It was one of those feel-good country nights where the atmosphere remained relaxed from start to finish. Fans enthusiastically joined in on songs such as I Had Some Help, She Got The Best Of Me, Chicken Fried, Chattahoochee, The Gambler, Ring of Fire, I Want It That Way, ’Til You Can’t, Your Man, and Country Girl (Shake It For Me), among many others.

Of course, no country celebration would have been complete without the ultimate crowd anthem, Take Me Home, Country Roads, which brought the evening to a fitting conclusion.

The night unfolded as a celebration of country music in its purest form—fans singing at the top of their lungs, sharing every chorus with the band, and embracing the sense of community that country music does so well. Judging by the reaction in the room, many will be eagerly awaiting Cody Pennington’s return to Cologne for another memorable night down the road.
