Four decades in and still going strong, Honeymoon Suite return with Wake Me Up When The Sun Goes Down, a powerful follow-up to 2024’s Alive. The Canadian rock veterans double down on what made them legends in the first place – the massive hooks, melodies that still have muscle, and that unmistakable mix of charging guitars and soaring vocals. The albums carries an eighties feel with a contemporary production, pretty good energy but without a standout chart breaking take. After I was done with listening nothing stuck in my mind to come back to it and listen again. I wouldn’t call it a bad album, just not outstanding at all. You know those albums when a band has a contract and has to put out a new album in a certain time frame, yet they are not in their best creativity phase.
