“Cloud9” is the fourth single from the upcoming album of the same name, scheduled for release on February 20. Within the first 20 seconds, it felt instantly familiar — even the bass line — strongly reminiscent of “Cloud Number 9” by Bryan Adams. The track comes across as if someone uploaded the Bryan Adams song to Suno with the prompt “make this a country song.” It’s puzzling how similarities like that pass without question, considering artists have faced lawsuits for less. Notably, Bryan Adams isn’t credited among the three listed composers.

The song itself is decent but somewhat uninspiring, and around the 3:20 mark Megan’s vocal noticeably drifts off pitch. It’s surprising that such a moment would go unnoticed during mixing or mastering. If this is meant to be the album’s title track, it doesn’t exactly build anticipation for what’s to come. With four singles already released, there’s also little sense of surprise left for the full album. Overall, Megan’s vocal delivery tends to sound rather disengaged across most of her songs.
