Cult Of Occult – Sol Sonic Ride Part III 2026
Cult Of Occult is an extreme blackened sludge and doom metal band from Lyon, France, formed in 2011. Known as “France’s most hated band,” they are celebrated in the underground for their “crushing” sound that blends slow, heavy doom riffs with the aggression of black metal and noise. Their music is characterized by its “suffocating” atmosphere, extreme volume, and misanthropic themes. Their live performances and recordings are often described as “sonic rituals”. Lyrical content typically focuses on darkness, alcohol, hatred, and the darker aspects of the human mind. Their sound is deliberately uncomfortable, utilizing vintage amplifiers pushed to their absolute limits to create a physical “wall of sound”. The band has released several full-length albums and EPs, many of which explore deep psychological or concept-driven themes. I Have No Name (2026): Their fifth studio album, which continues their exploration of self-erasure and mental suffering.
Cult Of Occult took stage in Club Volta, dressed all in black and hoodies pulled over their head, washed mostly in red stage lights.
