Madball is an American New York hardcore band. Originated in the late 1980s as a side project of Agnostic Front, the band developed after Agnostic Front’s vocalist Roger Miret would let his younger half-brother Freddy Cricien take the microphone and perform lead vocals during Agnostic Front shows.
Madball was the last of the three opener bands for Lionheart at Carlswerk Victoria on January 23, 2026. It was a relief to see Gideon, their noise and the throw up inducing continuous strobe lights gone from stage. The house was packed out and Madball had a complete blast right from the first note, so did the audience. Freddy was unstoppable, he had a proper cardio workout for sure and the energy was fully transmitted to the audience. One of those moments when the crowd and the band are on the same note. I wouldn’t wonder if Madball is back to Cologne next year as headliner.
