The Bros Landreth of Winnipeg, Canada were live at Luxor in Köln in front of a sold out house, which means roughly 350 people. The brothers Joey and David hit the stage as a trio and pulled off a perfect set of alternative country, blues, southern rock mixture. Their music is an artistic statement, instead of going down the mainstream pop country rabbit-hole, they take pride in their compositions and musicianship. Their Juno award for root and traditional album is reflecting this statement. The brothers complement each-other very nicely on stage instrumentally as well as the beautiful vocal harmonies they pull off. Let’s not leave out their drummer, Roman Clarke, who blended in seamlessly musically and also doing himself vocal harmonies. Definitely a night with high artistic value. Of course an extra attention goes always on the guitar player, Joey does some amazing switch back and forth between rhythm, slide and solos which always hit the spot.
