Grailknights – Tour Of The Rising Fun 2026 in Carlswerk Victoria, Köln.
The Grailknights are a metal band from Hanover. Their music can be stylistically assigned to the melodic Death Metal and Power Metal. Their live performances include a strongly theatrical component that thrives on the interaction between the band and the audience. The eternal struggle of good against evil is the core of the band’s concept, which is fundamentally reminiscent of that of the Masters of the Universe. Thus, the Knights carry out their eternal battles against Dr. Skull of Castle Grailskull, their home castle in Grailham City. They themselves appear in superhero costumes or “Superhero armor” on, including painted face mask as a parody of Corpsepaint. In contrast to black metal, black and white colours do not dominate the painting and clothing of the Grailknights, but black and an individual colour for each member of the band. Due to their superhero costumes and self-deprecating appearance, the band stands out strongly from the otherwise rather dark heavy metal. The concerts are humorously staged as epic battles. Most of the time Dr. Skull has stolen the holy Grail of the Grail Knights and in the course of the concert it is recaptured by the band. Various supporting characters for both sides appear on stage. The audience, referred to by the band as the Battlechoir, is actively integrated into the battle through cheering speeches, smaller stories and gags. The battle cry is: “Grailknights Battlechoir”, and the audience replies in chorus: “Yes Sire!”.
