Luka Bloom (born Kevin Barry Moore on May 23, 1955, in Newbridge, County Kildare) is an acclaimed Irish folk singer-songwriter known for his intense acoustic guitar style and passionate vocals. The younger brother of Irish folk icon Christy Moore, he chose his stage name in 1987 by combining the title of Suzanne Vega’s song “Luka” with Leopold Bloom, the protagonist of James Joyce’s Ulysses.
