The journey continues! Following the sensational success of the 1st Bonn Americana and Bluegrass Festival in March 2025, the Bonn Harmonie is now launching the second Bonn Americana and Bluegrass Festival with a first-class lineup.

Four passionate musicians from Cologne bring the classics of one of the greats to life – with mandolin, fiddle, banjo, guitar, and double bass. Their name says it all: Bluegrass Cash pay musical tribute to Johnny Cash – powerful, honest, and full of joie de vivre.

This folk-rock band from the Cologne/Bonn area is dedicated to the musical road trip – with a sound that is sometimes delicately melodic, sometimes driving and full of groove.
In their repertoire: hand-picked songs that blend roots, rhythm, and emotion – a mix of passionately written original compositions and stylishly interpreted pieces from the vast cosmos of Americana. Johnny & the Yooahoos
Since 2018, Johnny & the Yooahoos have been bringing a breath of fresh air to the European bluegrass and folk scene. What began as performances on small stages in southern Germany has now taken the four musicians to international festivals in France, Ireland, the Netherlands, Austria, and Switzerland.
2025 saw their biggest milestone to date: As winners of the IBMA International Band Grant, the Yooahoos toured the USA for five weeks – with legendary stops such as the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville and the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival in New York.
Musically, the Yooahoos rely on pure acoustics: Banjo, mandolin, guitar, double bass, and three-part harmonies blend into a sound that combines tradition and modernity. Sometimes energetic and raw, sometimes lyrical and atmospheric – but always authentic, approachable, and captivating.
Whether on festival stages, in clubs, or at open-air venues – Johnny & the Yooahoos take their audience on a journey between nostalgic bluegrass and contemporary folk, full of passion, joy of playing, and unmistakable charm.
