No solo artist of the last 65 years has had such a lasting impact on music history as Bob Dylan. The musician from Duluth, Minnesota, is undoubtedly the songwriter of the century and was compared by the US news channel Newsweek within modern pop music to what Albert Einstein was for physics. From folk, Bob Dylan has developed into one of the greatest voices in rock music from the mid-1960s and one of the most influential musicians of his lifetime with influences from country, blues, gospel and pop from the mid-1960s. Songs like “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door”, “Mr. Tambourine Man”, “The Times They Are A-Changin'”, “Blowin’ in the Wind”, “Like A Rolling Stone”, “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall” and many more became absolute world hits and have inspired and shaped several generations to this day. Bob Dylan’s awards range from countless platinum records and number 1 chart placements to ten Grammy Awards, a Lifetime Achievement Grammy, an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award and many more prestigious honors to the renowned Nobel Prize in Literature. With this award, which no other musician has received since then, the 2016 Nobel Committee manifested to attribute Bob Dylan’s global recognition and his extraordinary gift.
In 2020, Bob Dylan delighted his fans with the release of the album “Rough and Rowdy Ways”. The work dominated numerous year-end lists and marked another milestone in the career of one of the greatest artists of the present. The accompanying Rough and Rowdy Ways Tour once again cemented its status with great enthusiasm and was described by The Guardian as “absolutely unpredictable evening full of thrills and unconditional joy”. Other press reviews spoke in their reviews of “a masterclass in musical intimacy” (Uncut) and an “earthly melancholy and silent awe” (The Times). After the fortieth studio album “Shadow Kingdom” released in 2023 – a soundtrack to Alma Har’el’s film “Shadow Kingdom: The Early Songs of Bob Dylan” – followed in 2025 “The Bootleg Series Vol. 18: Through The Open Window, 1956–1963”, an exclusive archive compilation described by Uncut as an “astonishing, deep dive into the shaping years of Bob Dylan”. Even at the age of 85, Bob Dylan’s radiance has not changed.
At the end of October, Bob Dylan will be live in Flensburg, Bremen and Düsseldorf, before it takes him to Munich, Freiburg, Stuttgart and Frankfurt in November. In cooperation with the case manufacturer Yondr, the shows will take place on the entire tour without cameras and smartphones to make the experience even more direct and unique.
