La Delio Valdez
July 22 @ 8:00 pm
La Delio Valdez have been a symbol of the power of a musical collective for over 15 years – independent, cooperatively organized, and shaped by the shared language of Cumbia as a musical and dance style, the Buenos Aires orchestra unites community, identity, and celebration. Their shows are exhilarating festivals where orchestral power meets pure joie de vivre.
The last few years for the Argentinian collective have been filled with two of the most defining moments of their career: The finale of their 15th-anniversary tour at the end of 2024 brought La Delio Valdez to the Ferro Carril Oeste stadium for the first time, playing to an audience of 25,000. In 2025, the Buenos Aires orchestra crowned their creative achievements to date with another milestone: At the Movistar Arena, the musicians presented their new album “El Desvelo” in a stunning setting, with special musical guests and a unique live setup that underscored the festive atmosphere that has always characterized their live performances.
Since 2009, La Delio Valdez have been developing their unique artistic concept, understanding Cumbia as the shared musical language of the Latin American continent. With 15 musicians on stage, they revive the continent’s great orchestral tradition, drawing inspiration from the national tango orchestras of the 1950s as well as the theatricality of large Caribbean ensembles – with dance and a powerful sound at its core. Their style blends traditional Andean elements with salsa, rock, jazz, and reggae to create a soundscape that is both deeply rooted and modern.
The band’s cooperative and self-managed organization reflects their identity and commitment to popular and social causes. Their own label, Delirio Valdez, has accompanied this journey for years, releasing studio albums, live albums, and numerous single collaborations since 2012.
With “El Desvelo,” the orchestra opened a new chapter. Twelve songs revolve around intimate yet universal themes such as love, heartbreak, personal struggles, longing, frustration, and celebration. Developed in collaborative sessions with Popi Spatocco as artistic producer, the tracks were recorded live in the studio to capture La Delio Valdez’s signature, powerful sound, a blend of emotional depth and communal energy.
When the 15-piece orchestra brings these songs to life, the result is far more than just a concert. Between orchestral precision, Caribbean festivity, and modern cumbia euphoria, evenings of dance, community, and raw emotion unfold. La Delio Valdez will bring this unique energy to Germany in July – to Fabrik in Hamburg, the Columbia Theater in Berlin, and Kantine in Cologne.
