PUBLIC IMAGE LTD announce concerts in Germany
Hamburg, November 28, 2025. PUBLIC IMAGE LTD, the legendary post-punk innovators led by John Lydon, have announced concerts in Germany for 2026. Following their successful comeback in recent years and the acclaimed album “End of World” (2023), the band is returning to the big stages once again – with a tour celebrating PUBLIC IMAGE LTD’s musical evolution from 1978 to the present day. Tickets go on sale today, November 28, 2025, at 12:00 PM at www.eventim.de and on other platforms.

PUBLIC IMAGE LTD was founded in 1978 after John Lydon led the Sex Pistols. The band quickly became one of the most influential projects of the post-punk era. Their unconventional, ever-evolving sound—a blend of rock, dance, folk, pop, and dub—and their uncompromising attitude earned PUBLIC IMAGE LTD five UK Top 20 singles and five UK Top 20 albums. From their groundbreaking debut, “First Issue,” through cult releases like “Metal Box” and “That What Is Not” (1992), Lydon and various lineups shaped the musical landscape of their time like few other bands.

After a 17-year hiatus, Lydon reactivated PUBLIC IMAGE LTD in 2009. Since then, the band has toured the world and released three critically acclaimed studio albums: “This is PiL” (2012), “What The World Needs Now…” (2015), and most recently, “End of World” (2023).

The announcement of the new tour follows a period in which Lydon believed he might never perform live again. In 2023, he lost two of the most important people in his life within a few months: his wife Nora in April and his lifelong friend and manager John Rambo Stevens in December, immediately after the conclusion of the last PUBLIC IMAGE LTD tour. Lydon spoke openly about how he saw little chance of touring again at that time. However, the overwhelming support of fans and the response to his spoken-word performances gave him renewed strength—and ultimately the impetus to bring PUBLIC IMAGE LTD back to the stage.

The 2026 tour marks the beginning of a new chapter for PUBLIC IMAGE LTD. The band will present a powerful live show, blending classics from their entire history with new material. John Lydon is as determined as ever and looks forward to sharing the energy and intensity of his band live with fans once again.
