Uuhai is a Mongolian folk metal band formed in 2020. They are known for incorporating traditional Mongolian music with heavy metal.
Uuhai was live at Gebaude 9 in Cologne opening for Nanowar Of Steel. They grabbed the audience right from the first notes and from my perspective they stole the show. The traditional wear, inclusion of traditional instruments and vocals offered something special to grab and hold on through their set. They are walking on the well beaten path of The Hu. It’s been like that through rock music history, one sets the standard, few more squeeze through the path quickly, then the avalanche hits. I mean it was not much different with hair bands of the eighties either.
