Shadow of Intent is an American symphonic deathcore band known for its technical precision and high-production orchestral elements. Originally formed in 2013 as a studio project in Connecticut by vocalist Ben Duerr and multi-instrumentalist Chris Wiseman, the band’s name and early lyrical themes were heavily inspired by the Halo video game franchise. Shadow of Intent’s sound is a complex blend of deathcore, symphonic metal, and technical death metal. They are recognized for Ben Duerr’s versatile vocal range—spanning from deep gutturals to black metal shrieks—and Chris Wiseman’s intricate, melodic guitar work and cinematic orchestral arrangements.
