Mike D 5 D with new album “Thank You” live in Cologne in November

Praised by ROLLING STONE as “the embodiment of that punk energy that once led his band to an early breakthrough,” Mike D 5D announced new shows in the USA, Canada, Great Britain and Europe. Mike D 5D is the band consisting of Mike, his sons Skyler and Davis Diamond, Eddie Ruscha, Will Graefe and Milo Ruscha.

“Where with this greed?”, scolds Mike D between hypnotizing passages of relentless rhythms in “Crypto”, the latest song from his upcoming debut album “Thank You”, which will be released on the 28th. Capitol Records will be published in August.

“Crypto” is a spirited, winking reflection on fraud and greed and the fourth song to be released in the run-up to “Thank You” – an album that was already praised by the NEW YORK TIMES as “a scorching lo-fi breakout of analog synthesizer sounds and smashed industrial beats, shaped by the influence of dub and the dystopian New York punk band Suicide”.

“Thank You” was already announced by the “cross-genre banger” (GLIDE) “Switch Up”, the “classic, bombastic, exuberantly energetic” (OKAYPLAYER) title “What We Got” and the “lively, thoughtful, breakbeats-driven wall of acid rock” (RELIX) called “True Colors”.

The album consists of 13 pieces with sonorically imaginative post-electronic grooves and hypnotic hooks, in which Mike D’s unmistakable voice leads the listener through an acoustic playground that escapes any categorization. In November he will bring this to the stage in Cologne, among others.
