Karnivool – In Verses Tour

Support: Intervals

Twenty years have passed since the Australian band Karnivool achieved their major breakthrough with their debut album “Themata.” The quintet formed in 1997 – initially as a cover band of Nirvana and other grunge artists. However, founding members Ian Kenny and Drew Goddard quickly began writing their own songs, evolving away from grunge and towards the progressive and alternative rock sound for which the band is still known and loved today. “Themata” (2005) impressed with tracks like “Shutterspeed” and “Roquefort,” featuring hard-hitting guitar riffs interwoven with melodic hooks, highlighting a love for musicianship that remains at the heart of Karnivool’s sound. Since then, two more albums followed, “Sound Awake” (2009) and “Asymmetry” (2013), which displayed a more experimental character – and now the band has announced their fourth studio album, “In Verses,” for release in early February 2026. In a way, the new work culminates all the experiences the band has gathered since its formation and incorporated into their sound over time. The themes of the album’s ten songs range from general frustration with the state of the world to the rediscovery of one’s own identity. All of this is enveloped by a sound that celebrates Karnivool’s history and is a product of what the five members have become as a band and as individuals over the years. Momentum like this is perfectly suited for the live stage – firstly, to properly pay homage to their discography, but also to demonstrate that Karnivool still have a lot to offer in the progressive rock scene after more than 25 years as a band. Next spring, they’ll embark on the “In Verses” tour with their new album and the band Intervals as support. This tour will include seven stops in Germany in April and May 2026.

Intervals – is a Canadian instrumental progressive metal band from Toronto, Ontario, formed in 2011. Originally starting as a full band, it has evolved into a solo project led by guitarist and composer Aaron Marshall. Their music is characterized by technical proficiency, melodic djent-style riffs, and a blend of progressive rock and electronic influences.
