Right at the beginning of the 2000s, there was a sense of unease in the air. Between digital revolution and personal overwhelm, a generation searched for words to describe feelings that were difficult to put into words. In the following years, the band refined their sound, blending indie rock, folk, and Southern influences, releasing six studio albums and even earning a Grammy nomination with “Infinite Arms.” Despite changing lineups, Band of Horses has always remained, at its core, Bridwell’s project: music full of longing, doubt, and cautious hope. Their most recent work, “Things Are Great” (2022), returned to a rawer sound reminiscent of their early days—less polished, closer to the rawest wounds.
