The British formation, which has significantly shaped the post-punk and new wave scene since the late 1970s, presents not only its best-known pieces, but also a rollercoaster ride through 47 years of band history.

The group was founded in Colchester in 1979 and established itself early in the environment of the influential label 4AD, which shaped its first releases. With the album “After the Snow” he made an international breakthrough in 1982, carried by the single “I Melt with You”, which became an integral part of pop culture and one of the greatest new wave numbers of all time. Despite several recasts and interim breaks, the core of the formation remained active and published new material over the decades. Stylistically, the band moved from rougher, experimental approaches to clearer song structures, without giving up their characteristic sound language.
