About an hour southbound travel from us is Monreal, a tiny historic town displaying some traditional fachwerk architecture and two medieval castle ruins towering above the valley, which are easy to reach through a short steep hike. the rain almost ruined the day, we planned on three locations, but we got lucky with a break in weather and at least we could visit Monreal.
