DESCRIPTION:Alexisonfire \nThe surprise return of Canadian post-hardcore pioneers Alexisonfire four years ago sparked ecstatic cheers not only among their fans. Unlike the previous decade\, when the five founding members only sporadically reunited for festival appearances\, otherwise channeling their creativity and passion into their respective current bands\, this was a true reunion of the band that\, according to US Rolling Stone\, single-handedly “put Canada on the post-hardcore map.” Following their 2022 comeback album “Otherness\,” the quintet is currently working on their sixth album\, slated for release this year. Two German shows have also been announced for June: one in Cologne on June 16th and another in Berlin the following day. \nWhat happens when five very different musicians meet in a rehearsal room to start a new band project? In the case of Alexisonfire\, the band formed in St. Catherines\, Canada in 2001\, a true catalyst was their powerful yet sophisticated sound\, defying categorization within the rock genre. Ultimately\, it was agreed that Alexisonfire would be described as “Canadian post-hardcore.” Their stylistic idiosyncrasy\, also reflected in their three highly distinct lead vocalists\, paid off immediately: With their self-titled debut album\, released in 2002\, they became a worldwide sensation. The announcement of their breakup in 2011\, after ten years and four acclaimed albums\, was correspondingly dismaying. \nSubsequently\, the five members pursued their own musical projects\, some with resounding success – only to discover\, after a ten-year hiatus\, that their passion for this unique band had been rekindled. In 2022\, they promptly wrote and produced their entire new album\, “Otherness\,” in less than a week\, making it unmistakably clear: the special\, unmistakable Alexisonfire magic is back. The band deservedly won the JUNO Award for “Rock Album of the Year” in 2023. \nSince then\, they have toured the world several times. Their shows have proven to be just as powerful and intense as ever. After the 2025 EP “Copies of Old Masters\, Vol. 1\,” featuring cover versions of their favorite songs\, they are currently working on their next studio album and recently stated in a radio interview that it will be their most diverse album to date. Fans can therefore be highly excited about the upcoming shows – especially thanks to the special guest Militarie Gun\, a powerful quintet from LA who\, with two albums and four EPs since 2020\, have demonstrated just how fresh\, intense\, and timeless post-hardcore still is. All the more so when he tells the story of their frontman Ian Shelton’s personal traumas in such an unvarnished\, honest way. \n
