Honda, Tolima takes its name from the indigenous people of the region which are called Ondaimas. Founded in 1539 and it was the main river port of the country for a long time. For us was a quick stopover on the dive between Zona Cafetera and Villa de Leyva. We explored around the main plaza and few blocks from there, but it’s more to the colonial ¬†town for those who can withstand the heat at 229 m altitude. Tourism is listed as a main industry, but we were pretty much the only ones around that day, I think. Now despite the heat and Blaze’s side-looks ‘what the hell we are doing here?’, there was a certain charm to the place I cannot say I didn’t liked it.
